I often get a session timout error when posting on my forum. Where in post_info.asp is the session variable so I can change it?

the setting is on the server not in the code I think. But if you do a search you will find that you can set another timeout value on that page.
(Please correct me if I'm wrong..)

What database are you using?

I'd say time to archive and then compact and repair. Remember to make a database backup.

Why? The forum is new, so there isn't many posts, and/or members. I just need to know if "post_info.asp" has a line of code that sets the session time out. I couldn't find it. Does anyone know? If yes, what line in the code or what does it look like? Thanks for your help.

Do you have subscriptions enabled?

Increasing the timeout is really fighting a sympton, not the cause of your problems...

Well that may well be the cause of your problem, if you do have many subscriptions active. Just as a test, disable then and see if the situation improves.

Thanks, I'll try this. It's just unfortunate to have to disable subscriptions...It is what keeps them informed to their post replies. I wish there was another way.

Maybe some customizations of the RSS MOD are in order...

I didn't tell you to disable them altogether, just as a test to see if it improves the situation. If it does, then you may consider changing email component or even the subscription level... The rss mod is another alternative.

If it is subscriptions (and the amount of email leaving your forum) causing the delays then you may be able to "fix" the problem by using an email component which allows you to add the emails to a queue. This allows the forum software to continue without having to wait for the emails to be sent.
