You'd need to change inc_header (login handling system) for that. Doable, but if you ask me, I don't like it that much...

You need to close all browser windows after clearing cookies. Also, try adding the site either to your trusted sites, or/and override default cookie handling for it.

Belive it or not but the link works at my place with MSUE only if there are two cookies on my computer. The topic-(and topic_pop)-link then reads the oldest cookie - the username doesn´t matter.
1) is that of any help to your understanding of the problem?
2) is there any disadvantages if I simply lets my app create an extra "topic_pop"-cookie.

Does your local forum have the proper URL specified in Admin Options?

Home URL is portal_content.asp and Forum URL is http://avgifter.com/forum/on my Internet-server, the one now working if there are two cookies on my computer (I expressed myself poorly in my last post - it was the Internet server which worked with 2 cookies) On my local server I have corresponding values.
I do not know if that is right, I only know that it works perfect every time so far on my local server. Is it wrong values syntax-wise ? - I have payed special attention to write exactly as it is in the Admin Options.

Ok, thought you may have the same values. What do you mean having two cookies? Two cookies from your own forum?

to make a long story short - the adress in the link is wrong, I forgot to add www. in front of the adress. The link opens the page because both www.avgifter.com" target="_blank">www.avgifter.com and avgifter.com is ok on my server but the link-page cannot find the cookie created from www.avgifter.com" target="_blank">www.avgifter.com .Althoug it feels like the pb is solved I am uncertain if it is enough to change the adress of the link - should the method of naming the cookie be changed?

ruirib, your support prevented me from digging deeper down in unavoidable chaos or from giving up the entire forum a couple of days ago - 1000 thx.
(PS - could this mistake also explain other similar issues or is my mistake unique? Anyhow - now I am going to sleep a day or two)

Glad you fixed it. Just changing the link's address is ok, the issue was not the cookie's name.
