Ok I got this stupid router from Vonage, which was working fine up until now. It seems snitz is the only site I have access to on the whole freakin internet, which frankly is starting to get to me.

I feel like bashing the router & modem between my monitor and computer, leaving me with nothing but a printer, BUT AT LEAST IT WILL WORK RIGHT...

man this is the wrong time for this to happen, I havnt slept in like 36 hours and I dont feel like staying up for another 2 hours playing with the stupid freakin internet connection. I know nothing of networks or networking...

Stupid computer...

End of rant... if it even gets posted with this half-butted stupid router...

Why... why why why why why why... Now there is a new icon beside my "Local Area Connection" in Network Connections called "Internet Connection" - which was never there before, I dont need that... that is likely the cause of this whole mess, I want it gone but it wont go away.

I try to disable it, and it says "It is not possible to disconnect at this time. The connection is currently busy with a connect/disconnect operation"

How can you call it a connection when its not even "connected"

I cant delete it

I cant do anything with it....

What I really dont understand is why snitz is the only freakin website on the entire internet that I can seem to get to right now.

*1 nerve away from getting a hammer and ending it*

I struggled with a Dell router for days, until I finally called the helpdesk and it turned out it was defective :S They sent me a new one and it's working fine now.

The 'Internet Connection' thing shows that you are connected through a gateway (the router) - There's no need to get rid of that.

You have UPnP enabled will be why, it will be a router setting, turn it off.

I dont know why or how, but now it works fine (to my knowledge)... I gave up on it last night and went to bed, woke up and came out to mess with it, and its working fine.

hrmmmm

If your router doesn't work you can do what is called a 'power cycle' - Turn off your computer, unplug your router (power + LAN), unplug your modem (power + LAN), wait for a few minutes and turn everything back on in reverse order. This has always worked for me.

I had a TON of issues with my router until I did a firmware update. Now the thing works flawlessly and when it does seem to have an issue the firmware update gave me a reset button in my admin panel that I can just click and everything works again.

But before that update...... I was loading the shotgun....
