Hello Ive got the idea of building a complete homepage localy. Just to test out snitzforums, Mods, asp-stuff and so on.
Ive got a computer with WinXP-proffessional, Office XP proff, Frontpage (latest version) and so on.
Is it possible to build a page localy? How?
Thanks in advance. Rune |

Yes. You need to install IIS 5.1, from the Windows Control Panel / Add Remove Programs, Add Remove Windows Components.
After installing IIS, you will have a c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder. That's where you can place your .asp files. You should create a c:\inetpub\database folder, where you will place the Access DB. You need to use Windows Explorer to assign Read/Write permission for the IUSR_YourComputerName on that database folder. After that follow the instructions on the Snitz readme. After completing those instructions type http://localhost/setup.asp and you'll have your forum running. |
