I have the photo album mod loaded and it seems to be working other than it wont let you upload photos. When I try to upload a photo it shows me
"Error! File did not upload to system please contact the system administrator".
Do you need a DBS file to update the database because when I instaled I didnt run a database setup file thing. The directory I made to upload the photos to has read, web, browse, write, and set root permisions(Are there any of those permisions I dont need or more I do need(if their even is more)). When I run the test I get
"This is a test. if you see "this is a test." above file checks out Files should be able to upload to file system"
But the files wont upload. Another question, What is FileSystemObject access?
I have version 3.4.05 and am running it on an access database. The modes i currently have instaled are guestbook, avater, FAQ adminastration, tell a friend, and basic statistics mod. I'm not sure what version the photo mod is but the name of the folder that i downloaded was "photoalbum182" Thanks, any help is apprieciated, Chris |

Error message is pretty self-explanatory; check the directory you're trying to upload to has read/write permissions.

OK adonix, what database are you using? Access, SQL, or mySQL?
I'm building another forum and I'm planning on installing the photo mod, so I'll do that mod next and get back to you if anything funky comes up with the instructions.

Create a photos directory, I put mine off my images directory. Make sure you have read/write permissions to this directory.
Extract all files into your main forum directory (except for admin_home.asp) If you have any mods installed and you extract this file to your main forum directory, you will lose all the mods you have done to your admin_home.asp.
Edit default.asp, around line 568 you'll find:
if strShowStatistics = "1" then
WriteStatistics
Insert this code immediately before that:
'photo album insert into main page
%>
<!--#include file="inc_photo_album.asp"-->
<%
'end insert
When you're done, it'll look like:
'photo album insert into main page
%>
<!--#include file="inc_photo_album.asp"-->
<%
'end insert
if strShowStatistics = "1" then
WriteStatistics
Edit admin_home.asp. Around line 135 you'll find:
" <LI><span class=""spnMessageText""><a href=""admin_config_groupcats.asp"">Group Categories Configuration</a></span></LI>" & vbNewLine & _
Insert this code immediately after that:
" <LI><span class=""spnMessageText""><a href=""admin_album.asp"">Photo Album Configuration</a></span></LI>" & vbNewLine & _
Goto the Photo Album administrator page in the admin options. If tells you to put in the name of the directory you want it to create, but I already had the directory created with the appropriate permissions. Put the path to the already created directory here. On my forum, I have an images folder for all of my icons in the root of my forum directory. As I said above, I created my photos directory under the images directory, so in this box, I put in \images\photos
Go back to the Photo Album admin page, enter the Album User Administration and Add a Single User (for now). Check your photos directory, it should have created a subdirectory with your users name. If it did not, then you either have a path issue or you have a permissions issue. Go to the Photo Album Admin page and enter the troubleshooting area. Scan down and it will give you the physical path on the server. Confirm with your ISP that this is the correct path for your photo directory. If the path is correct, then it's a permissions issue. In either case, you'll need your ISP to help you resolve this.
Hope this helps!

I'm still getting the same error:
exact path to file: /forum/uploads/photos Write to file failed.
I'm using a Win2003 server, so the forum is acting as a local intranet, but I can't figure out why it can't write to this folder. Ok, here's the thing, I was using the "Mike's Mod attachment" to upload files to this "uploads" folder and there was no problem writing folders into this folder. I also try changing the folder to the images directory, but no luck. Same error. I also have the file sharing mod and the this 'uploads' folder have the same permissions that the shared folder has, but I can't figure out why!
