but am finding it really is totally different because i have version 3.3.5
I am wondering exactly how tough it woudl be to upgrade to the recent version. problem is my db has over 100,000 posts and its in SQL server.
i want to be careful but i really want a lot of these new features. I want to maintain all my color settings and things of this nature.
i would be satisfied just doing the star mod for now but my admin_rank files are completely differetn so i may have to upgrade to the most recent version... suggestions?
you won't lose any of your data, and the size of your db won't affect the upgrade too much, all your current setings will remain intact, but if you currently have mods installled, they will need reinstalling.
The upgrade should be as simple as uploading the new files and running setup.asp
i have so many mods i dont even know anymore where the mods stop and where the orginal began. i dont suppose theres any practical way to go about just upgrading the star ranking >_< when i tried the install (copied the whole db to a test sql db and i get Code : 80040E4D error login failed. i recall sql servers require a setup.asp url. that error code doesnt return a search record.
