I've seen this around alot, I've signed up for my own account, but I'm just wondering what peoples past experience with it is?
I noticed they're pretty good at keeping the content of the ads to fit your website, and simetimes the color pallete is that so it looks like it matches your website.
Seems like a good service, whats your opinion? |

I used it for awhile, but it wasn't worth it for the type of site I was running. We also had a lengthy discussion or two on this subject in the past so you might be able to get more info on it by browsing through one of the topics I found:

| Depends on your levels of traffic and whether your site's core subject matter is desirable to internet shoppers. I've had some very encouraging results over the last 18 months on my own site, particularly in the last 6 months or so when I focussed on SEO on my forums. |

| I'd love to hear any stories about how successful this program has been to anyone here. I know the rules and regulations of the program is to not disclose actual dollar amounts, but I'm looking more for stories on whether or not it was what you expected and worth having the banners on your site based on how much you are getting in return. |

| Having previously run banners from Commission Junction, I had low expectations. From the outset, Adsense was much better than I had expected and far exceeded the earnings of the former. I was particularly pleased as the text-based Adsense ads were far less offensive to the eye than the now universally-ignored garish, moving/flashing images. |

| AdSense is great. The money really helps offset the costs of the site, so much so that I can afford to do more things with the site as well. I reckon it, especially for forums. Anyway, you can always remove it if it doesn't perform as you would expect. |

| I've been running it now, just switched to two ads per page. They don't interfere with anything. I'm going to be mixing the google ads in with my own advertisers. I've been making due quite well actually with adsense so far. I'm pleased. |

My experience with adsense is that - The ads are not 'in the way' of the site
- The ads can help (due to the keyword matching, the links provided are sometimes very helpfull, if you're looking for a certain piece of hardware/equipment/software)
- The earnings are quite bad if you're low in visitor-rates, and mainly non-English (like oxle).
I've been using it for about 1 year now for approx 45% of the ads shown on oxle, and haven't been paid yet (ergo ; I haven't reached the threshold of US$100,- yet.....)
For comparison, TradeDoubler, which I've started using for 55% of the ads since about april this year, has paid me about € 130 already, and there's still an amount left on my balance.... |

| It's so so... If ya got a ton of traffic I am sure it would rock... But I get about 1000-2000 visitors a day on one of my "heavy" sites and even that doesn't seem to be enough. But I would suggest you try it and see what you think. |

I was earning moderate three-figure dollar amounts per day this time last year but now it's fallen way back into double figures. There's good money to be made out there, it's just not under the category of music right now!
Oh, and about 1% of that figure is made from my (busy) forums. If you want to make good money from your forum, it's probably not your best source for income. |

I've had a pretty good experience with AdSense. I'm most likely going to get paid about three times this year. They pay you when you go over $100.00, but it doesn't seem to go out automatically after it reaches $100 because I've sometime had more than that sitting in my account at times.
It has covered my monthly hosting costs with some change leftover. It's usually pretty steady income, but it does dip and peak a bit. I think the Christmas holidays and summer vacations tend to impact my site viewers more than might be for others.
I don't run it on a forum.
One thing you might think about is what kinds of ads are running in different countries. When I was accessing my site from Japan, the ads were different from what they are now when I access form the UK.

The Google Preview Tool is very useful for finding out that information. Just click on a page of choice, choose the country you want to view the ads for and voila! |

Well I've been enrolled for about a month with adsense, and I'm pleased with the results.
As my traffic increases I see this paying off well. |
