so I'm helping my mom organize some of her crap today... and she hands me an external hard disk and says "I dont know what this is somebody gave it to me but I figured it was useless without the paperwork"

Turns out its a Western Digital 120GB external USB Hard disk!!! I'm like "do you have any other technological components laying around that you dont know what they do??"

I just had to share this, soon I'll have 120GB more space, as soon as figure out how to hook it up

I use these enclosures:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-145-329&depa=1

and just put in old Dell Laptop Hard Drives that aren't being used anymore. Works great with Norton Ghost 2003 for making/restoring Ghost images.

Only 20 gig *in* the computer, and 120 gig's outside ... hahaha
that ís a bit daft innit

Richard ; Yep, Dell harddisks ; mine also. Works perfectly! The only thing I cannot figure out is how to (re)partition the disk as a USB device without erasing all data.
Partition Magic doesn't support it yet.
