I've been having this problem plauge me for about a month or so now, I think ever since I installed SP2, then un-installed it.
I've checked both windows update, and the link provided by windows update for unsupported updates... nothing I cant find anything. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?
What happens is, my computer restarts out of nowhere, no warning, just bam, its dead, then it restarts, shows me the message saying "Windows has just recovered from a serious error" and says "send error report" or "dont send".... I hit send error report every time and every time I get the following page, but it does me no good.

The error is telling you that there is a problem with your network interface card or the drivers for it. Have you upaded the drivers and/or replaced the NIC? |

Network interface card. I suggest you try and call the company where it is made to see if they have drivers so you can reinstall it. |

It's sometimes easier to just get a new NIC from your local computer store and pop it in... specifically a PNP one. Considering you'll only spend about 30 bucks, I think it's worth it.
I would not rely on Windows Update for drivers... EVER! If you know the manufacturer of the NIC, go directly to their web site and get the latest drivers. |

Yup - the crash reporting tool looks at the Watson dump and has isolated the problem to a particular piece of h/w - then suggests you may find an update wia windowsupdate. However, it is up to manufacturers to keep windowsupdate up-to-date with their drivers, so windowsupdate cannot always be expected to have the latest and greatest of everything, especially if the driver is unsigned for XP (which is the case for some manufacturers, even TDK'd Go Blue Bluetooth range isn't signed for Windows, curiously)
