I realize that this is a "dumb question". How many forum admins can there be? Only one? If no, how do you add another forum admin?
Allow me to apologize in advance for this question, I realize that it is seemingly naive. In my defense, I did more than scan the FAQs and utilized the suggested "search" function. Plenty of advise, answers, and suggestions regarding "moderators".
May I suggest added this question to one or more of the FAQs?
How do I add another Forum Admin?
In addtion, I will there was a "dumb question" or "beginner's corner", those of us who know that we are asking a beginner's question and post into a forum where the readers know that they are getting themselves into. Very Best Regards,

you can have as many forum admins as you want. Edit a members profile and there is a drop down list where you can change a persons level to moderator or administrator. |

Thank you dayve & podge
The "editing" of the member's profile was the tip that I needed.
Regarding the nature of who should be granted "forum admin" privs, you are absolutely correct. It must be a trustworthy & responsible person which was why I wanted someone in addition than myself to bear this great burden.
How do we get this "question & answer" onto the FAQs? There is plenty of FAQs space dedicated to the Moderator role but little to the Admin role.
FAQ Suggestions : Can I have more than one Forum Admin? How do I add another Forum Admin?
Again...thank you for the prompt and pleasant assistance. Your advice is being used to put another actual internet-acessible Snitz Forum "on the air". This is my first foray into ASP-based forum technology. Being a Unix person, my experience much deeper in PHP, Apache, MySQL, & Perl than IIS & ASP. (Oddly, I have done quite a bit of VB and MS Access programming in the past...like VB 3.0!) |

I've got a question similar to this. Is it possible to have more than one top-level Admin? The reason I ask is that the board I'm currently running has a generic logon for our entire group, and I run most everything through my user logon. The problem is that only the top level Admin can access some parts of admin_home.asp, such as the MOD Setup. Is it easier to just change the verification to all Admins, or is there some way I can add a 'Forum Admin' instead of a normal 'Admin'? |
