I'm working on a multi-language program (though it's becoming more of a book) that'll be sold during the upcoming tour of a choir. I need the text that will be put in the back of the program that says something like "nothing from this publication, in whole or part, may be duplicated, .... etc" and the correct text for "you may not take pictures, nor make sound or video recording during the performances".

Oh, and what's the official term used for the credits part of such a publication? I mean the page (or part of a page) that says who did what.

I had a couple musical/theatre programs that I could've gotten all of this from, but I seem to have "misplaced" them :)

I don't think the creative commons license will work, unless I'm not understanding the site (which is quite possible). The thing is that it doesn't have to be 100% legally correct, it just has to convey the message.

You don't want the Creative Commons license unless you want to give it away with restrictions.

Make a list of rules that says something like below.

1. No audio or video recording equipment of any kind.
2. No photography of the performance including camera phones.

And so on. Easier than trying to make up one blanket statement.

That's what I've done, except for the camera phones, which might be a good addition. I'll post the exact text I'm using tomorrow when I'm at work in case someone else might need it some time.

I completely forgot about this until I was just editing the colophon part.

No part of this publication may be reproduced or multiplied without express written permission from the producers.

It is forbidden to take photographs, make sound and/or video recordings during the concert without express written permission.

Maybe it would be worth phrasing all this in 'nice speak' so people will read it and not just discount it as a generic 'whatever' disclaimer...

'The x choir is a small/charity/not-for-profit/etc group who are excited to bring their music to as many people as possible - to do this obviously costs a lot of money, which we raise by selling our own recordings/promotional stuff/etc. Please do buy our official recordings and videos as they are of the highest quality, and you will help support us, which means we will be able to come back for another tour next time!' etc...

This may increase awareness of *why* you make the drachonian rulings, and people are more likely to cooperate if they understand the impact of their actions on their being able to enjoy the event again in the future!

Aside from the little space we have for this disclaimer because we had to cram it in 4 languages on the page along with a load of other text, there's no use in adding such a welcome message to the forelast page of a book when the first "real" page has an introduction text ;)

I did end up changing the second part, but I don't have the file here.
