I assume that I have been sent to this section since the latest version is 3.4.05, and mine is 03? I have been absent for a long while from this community, which probably was a relief for some of you... But what it really means is that my game site has worked well for some time now and I didn't need to come running for help every two days. However, I am here now with a problem. I currently have 86 "pending memberships" on my site, which made me suspiscious of the mailing function. I do get occasional mail from the site, but when join as a test member I do not get the mail verification to activate the account. The page that should send it is register.asp.
I am using WinXP Snitz vs3.4.03 I have uploaded a register.txt file for you. Thanks for any tips!
Oh, and I have selected CDOSYS in the mailer list. |

When it still worked right I was getting them. But for many weeks I have not gotten any now, which made me suspiscuous. So when I checked the pending members I found 86 there, when normally it used to be about a dozen only. I tried to register a test member with my email, and never got the validation mail. |

No Rui, we are not talking about just my own machine. I have so many "pending" members that I realized that they can't get their validation email. It could be my domain host's email server. My host for that domain is ADWH.com.

I just sent myself a test mail, and it arrived promptly. It looks like it is selective in what it sends. BUt I have 72 "pending members", who probably never received their validation link. |

Is your email a valid one for that server? Can you try to send email to another address on a different domain? I'm wondering whether this is not a relaying issue with your email server... |

After reading your post half a dozen times, arefully and slowly, I have to concede that I do not know what you want me to do. I am sorry to be so dense! I do have another domain server, and I have tried to enter 2 different test memberships, one for each domain server address. Neither activation key arrived here. |

Can you email a member you know, or maybe register a new account for you, using an email not from the same domain as your current email address, and then send an email from the forum? Basically I want to check whether the fact that most emails are not received is due to a relaying issue with your email server. |

I think I have done that already, maybe? The server ADWH.com serves the game site, and also some mailing addresses of ggholiday.com. My other server, Canaca.com, also serves some addresses. I have tried to register test members with mailing addresses for both servers, and none got mailed. Is this what you wanted me to do? |

No, I didn't mean register test members. I meant using the forum function to email a member with an email address from a domain differente from the domain of the server you will be using to send the email from the forum. |

I see what you mean, Rui. When I try to mail another member, my local email client window opens up to do it - and I don't think that is what you want. The only way I know how to test it with a forum mail would be to register someone with a mailbox on a different server. Or is there another function I can't think of? |

Nope, that's what he means ... send to a hotmail or gmail account. Fairly easy to test.
...and Welcome Back |
