Hi all
Have done a search and couldnt find the answer to this one.
Is there a way I can configure the board so that anyone can read everything but you need to be registered to post (as you can on phpBB).
At the moment it brings up the registration screen for new users, I want to grant them read access until they register, then they can post.

Thanks and apologies if this has already been answered!

Hi, buksida.

I think that this is the default behaviour, for every forum whose Auth type is "All visitors". They can see and read the topics, but they will be prompted for a username and password before they can create a new topic or reply to an existing one.

Best Regards

This forum has the security configured for "guest read-only".

It's just a matter of changing your Admin Options (sorry, I've forgotten which ones precisely), but it's not too hard to find.

To avoid the registration screen for new users, set Require Registration to off in Admin Options -> Main Configuration.

Great stuff, thanks!

Another quickie: How do I get it to show everything on the index page? At the moment it goes to "Default Categories" Which is just one Cat (I have 3). I want to do away with this drop down menu and just display every category from the start.

Set Group Categories to Off in Admin Options, Feature Configuration.
