Well, this hurricane season is very active this year. Right now, we have hurricane Ivan bearing down on Jamaica and should be here in 36 hours. I have cleaned up the place for him, so I hope he doesn't feel welcomed.

Hurricane Ivan just moved into category 5. Which is the highest category there is for hurricanes. It has just literaly flattened Grenada with 9 people losing thier lives. 90% of Grenada has been destroyed. Damage estimates are in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Now it's on it's way here.

The people here are a bit frantic I must say. The supermarkets were packed full, the gas stations were bumper to bumper with cars and traffic was terrible on the road. Hardware stores are also having a fair share of customers.

Here goes hurricane #2 for this month.

Maximum sustained winds of 160 mph are predicted.
That will pick the coconuts off the trees and fling them right through the wall!

He's in Jamaica!

I hope it didn't cause you any damage, Davio.

Well, let's all hope it is just a major power/comms outage stopping Davio, and nothing 'more serious'. Having seen the pics, I guess domestic phone lines will be a lower priority :(

Hopefully, all of Jamaica will be back on line soon.

Apparently the international undersea communications cable was damaged by the storm.

I did some checking. This story is pretty concise:
