ok i've been looking these forums for a week or 2 trying to hunt down any mods to allow search engine to spider the fourms...

google is the main one of course...

Tests I have carried out include searching for the posts like the one called "Sun One working" its page title snitz forums 2000 Sun One working this search return 0.... the page was created in may so this means that google is not listing this forums...

Anyone got any advice... the only seo advice on this forum was about title and meta tag... not listing the forums in the first place...

If you looked at the robots.txt on this subdomain, you'd have noticed these forums are excluded from search engine spiders, which explains why you can't find anything from these forums by searching on google.

When I still had forums on my sites, google and several other search engines spidered it without any problems, but if you don't believe me, try doing a search for something people have posted about on bigblueball.com ... that site's forums (also Snitz forums) turns up every time I search for something related to instant messengers.

Although it doesn't state it on that page, I know that Google can follow url's with querystrings.

Google follows such URLs just fine. I searched google for a couple terms that appear on my "new" site and it returned the correct pages and URLs.

Roland is correct. Google WILL follow query strings and a couple of the other search engines do to, but not all search engines. Look at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=snitzbitz+mod it will show the #2 & #3 postions have a querystring in them.
