It's been over a year since I last worked on the coding for this site, but as Modus Operandi celebrates it's fifth anniversary on 16 May, I decided to give it a overhaul (basically fix all my dodgy code ).
I took the decision to use the Snitz database as my core and investigated all the different MODs out there that would do what I want. After around a months work, here is the final product...

Well done. You've packed a lot of information onto the screen without overwhelming the visitor. I think the black/gray on gray color scheme permits that level of "text" activity.
I couldn't register because I have NIS "on" - so I can't comment on the forum.
The link to the RPGshop.com was almost a relief to get some color back on the screen. (That was an interesting affect.)
The "Featured Download" always stay at top center of the screen. That made me "hunt" after I clicked on a link in the Navigation bar. I felt that the linked pop in screen might be more pronounced if it had a shade different color - it would visually call the user's attention to the new information when they clicked the link.
I don't know how difficult that suggestion might be to implement, but if you can, you might experiment with it a little. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything. Your site has a strong inherent design to it and doesn't need tweaking.

Very sleek design!! However, I've got one remark. It's all a bit too grey if you ask me....There's too little contrast between buttons, text, columns and tables, which makes it difficult to spot the topictext. But then again, that might just be the point of this design - spies don't want to attract too much attention .
By the way ; are these figures correct ?

That's not that much activity in the last couple of years... too bad, for such a great designed website! |

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the grey is very intentional (the leading espionage RPG at the moment is Spycraft which uses a grey/silver colour scheme). As for the level of activity... yes, unfortunately most people visit to download files and then leave without adding to the forums. This was one of the main reasons for building the site around the forum more fully, it kind of forces people to take a more active part, while still allowing them to download the files freely. |
