Hey all, Made a new forum/new site for The Drive. I simplified the forum a little, and just tried to incorporate the forum into the design. I don't have much experience with ASP, but one thing I changed is what and when the links at the top of the page show up depending on who's logged in. Login as snitz (pass:snitz) to see the forum in action. As always, comments/suggestions welcome.

Very nice, but you need to have the link to Snitz in ALL the forum pages. |

Uh-oh, sorry about that! Must have did something wrong when I edited it before. I'll get that back up by Monday. |

Looks really good, easy on the eyes and it seems you've paid attention to the details... except for one: the "hot topic" icon is still yellow. Other than that, I'd say it's a great looking site and forums you've got there. |

Thanks Roland. I fixed the Snitz link to appear on all pages, and also fixed the hot topic icon. Just wondering...why doesn't the Snitz base code take an approach to the main links similar to what I've done? After all, if you're logged in you probably won't ever have the need to register, and if you're not logged in you can't edit your profile or view members anyway. I'm sure they have their reasons though (after all, I'm still kind of a newbie). |

there are many occasions when you are logged in that you may want to register, especially when testing new user registrations etc. |

For instance, in my forum I have made a change so that only Admins can register new members, as it is not a public forum, but a forum for an intranet, and I'll add the users I need, so in this case you must be logged in to use that feature. |

Makes sense. My "client" said from the beginning to keep things as simple as possible. Evidentally some of their fans who were a little internet un-savvy weren't able to figure out how the forum worked. Hence, my mod, to make things just a little bit simpler. |
