Hi everyone, I'm hoping that this is possible using Snitz v3.4.04. I want to set up a forum that has three groups of sub-forums: - one group which anyone can read, registered users can post in, and registered users can start threads in;
- one group which any registered user can read, post and create new threads in;
- and one group in which anyone can read posts, any registered users can reply to posts, but only specific users can start threads.
The first two of these groups, I know how to set up, and have already got up and running. The third, I do not know how to set up.
Having searched this forum, the closest I can find is this thread, which only really gives me guidance on how to set up the two groups I already know how to set up.
Could anyone give me any pointers as to whether this is possible in Snitz v3.4.04, and if so, how?
TIA, Simon |

you need to enable moderation for that and then set the moderation to original topics only. then when someone who shouldn't be posting a new topic does so, it will not show and you can then delete the post informing people why. |

Thanks, Nikkol - doing a search on "moderation original topics only" I got a thread that discusses doing the same thing. Sorry, I didn't see that before!
Just so I haven't completely wasted everyone's time, for the sake of future searches, and because there's a trick in getting this right, the definitive way to make this work for this:
1. First go to Admin Section -> Feature Configuration and turn "Allow Topic Moderation" ON. 2. Edit properties for the catagory group of forums in which the forum you wish to moderate resides, and select moderation type "moderation allowed in this catagory" 3. Edit properties for the individual forum you want this to affect; make one or more users moderators of that forum, and select "original posts only moderated".
Step 3, I feel, is not made sufficiently clear in previous threads.
Thankyou for the assistance, it's much appreciated. :) |
