Just go though it one time, it shouldn´t ask for it again ? |

Did you install it as an administrator on the account you are using it on? I've noticed it will do that if you install it on one account and then run it from another. |

Also, you can try the Detect and Repair in the help section of Word, or any of the other programs, or just try and re-install it. Do you have all of the service packs and updates for it too? It's probably just something small that needs to be repaired. |

did you install office with a different account from the one you are now using it with? For example, did you install the office product logged in as Administrator (or other account) and are now trying to run it with a different account like redbrad0? |

I had this problem with Microsoft Office 2000 and MS Visual Basic 6 too. I had installed an update for the VB program and then office kept going through the install when ever I opened an office program or the VB6 program. I am the admin and installed it as an admin.
It wouldn't stop until i put the office cd in, let it update whatever files it wanted to update, then it stopped after that.
If you haven't done that, i recommend you do the same. |

Had the same thing happen myself too, letting it install what it wanted seemed to fix it fine.
Alternatively sounds like you may have had the first install crap out and theres something left in the registry telling it that it still needs to install something. Try having a look in some of the Office Reg Keys to see if anything looks funny. |

It happened to me too. It seems that it didn't completely install everything on the first install. When I came to use Excel, it needed the disk. Same for Access, same for the sample databases. I suggest you try out all the features that you can think of, otherwise, it will might need the disk when you don't have it.

I will just uninstall and reinstall it office, but I installed it from the network and told it to install everything so it would be on there. Its at the same network location from when I installed it and I do not stop it when it says it is configuring office 2000 because i thought it would only need to do it once and then it would be good to go |

At oure school we have about 280 Computers all with Office - We do a install on one desktopcomputer. After that we make an image (ghost) and save that on the server. One image can be used to install all the other computers.
Whe do not use a network version of office because off the control (user rights) over it. |
