Would anyone have any ideas on how to get this script to work if your home PC is behind a router?

I would sign up with a service like http://www.dyndns.org/ and use one of these client utilities (http://www.dyndns.org/services/dyndns/clients.html) to update your free domain name with the correct IP address. I'm using Direct Update and it gets the IP address from my router instead of the one from my computer. It works great.

I guess I didn't accurately answer your question so forgive me if I assumed you wanted to do something you didn't want to do. However, if you want to display your IP address on a web page you could display the free domain name instead and the IP address associated with that domain name is updated automatically using the client utility.

No bagel no bagel no bagel no bagel!

I hope that works out for you. It will be another FESTIVUS MIRACLE! Don't forget to take down your Festivus aluminum pole and clean up after the feats of strength.
