Has anyone every messed with any Newsletter system/programs? I had someone asking me about it and instead of a mass emailing thru ASP pages I thought it would be better having it thru an .exe file.

My company uses Lyris. It's feature set is great, but it's also really expensive. Their corporate web site is here.

They've got more options than you can shake a stick at. I think thaty've got a hosted version too, but we don't use it.

Lyris at my company is leveraged across about a hundred+ web sites in over a dozen countries, so it's not that bad when you look at it that way.

If you want something to run on just on a PC and not a web server, take a look at Mach5 Mailer. It can connect to just about any data source. It has run well for me.

That looks decent, I dont think I remember seeing a way to connect to a SQL Server, how does it send it out on your local machine thru outlook?

I have never worked with a SQL Server. Can't you connect to it via ODBC?

It can either send the mail using the built-in SMTP server or any external SMTP server.

Yes I believe I can setup a local ODBC on my computer to connect to the SQL Server but I have never tried it. Sounds like a great program thanks for telling me about it.
