Does anyone know of any tools that exist that can pre-process LARGE files..
By pre-processing I mean removing lines, moving fields about, adding inserting text field..
By large I mean in the order of 400,000 - 500,000 pages (from either VMS, Unix, Dos, NT etc...) of fixed length, non-fixed length lines etc..
Obviously this is a work thingy, so any help or info of such tools would be VERY useful indeed :)

I've managed to do "most" of what I need with UltraEdit...
Sadly there are a couple of things that it doesnt' seem able to to - so I may head of down the SED / AWK route
