Although the feature is cool and I have done something like this in the past, I would never do it myself. I mean I would never download something from someone elses site to upload to their database. Even if I trusted the person because now you are dealing with compiled code interacting directly with your desktop. Fear of the unknown!!! I barely trusted Project Dolphin. |

Well, if I manage to get something to do this, it'd be optional for people to use it. If they don't want to use it, they can use the site. I know what you mean though, so that is something that'd be important to look at. |

Another thing you could do on your site's home page is tally up how many people are in what mood.
47.3% are complacent 21.7% are hyper 12.5% are cranky etc.
It would just be a fun addition, I guess. You could do a bunch of stuff along these lines such as showing trends according to the hour of the day, day of the week, or whatever. Stuff like this would make it a lot more complicated because that's more tables in the db and lots more record-keeping. It would be fun and interesting, though. |

I'm thinking about adding statistics like that at some point. I'm not sure if I want to make it as complicated as that, maybe just a page with 90% static information and only the "mood percentages" of the last week dynamic. Those are the kinds of things I'm not worrying about at this point. Once the basics are done I'll start work on the extras |

It's the idea of letting people use mood icons that I'm copying (and hopefully improving), not the site itself. There are very few sites that are really one of a kind, because pretty much everything that's doable has already been done. So you could say that a lot of people are copying what others do.
Hmpff, maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but that's the way I see it. |

Yar, I get what you mean...hell, I'd probably make a mood site if I could
How about, the average males mood is... and the average females mood is...
Ok, I'm clutching at loose straws now |

Roland I can help you write a small VB program that they could set there mood. The only thing I am not able to do with the program is have it make automatic updates if any are needed. I could have it check if there is a new update but they would have to download and install it themselves. |
