Hello there all you Snitz users.
I have just contacted a host I maybe would like for my site, I have asked them about their FREE TRAFFIC rules. They told me that I could have up to 8GB of traffic a month on the webhotel I am thinking of, now my question is, how much is that????? is that alot or are they cheating me *S*, my site has not yet been launched, but soon will be, Im counting on, in time to reach at least 100 hits pr. day, will the 8Gb be enough, can someone give me some hints to how much traffic sites generate in general?? |

If only 100 hits per day is all your looking for, I think that 8 Gb a month is fine, and probably excessive. 1 GB a month might be more than enough. |

okay thanks Seahorse, but 100 hits a day will be my min. desire, also the hotel is to host up to 5 sites, still none of them with downloads facilities, but still *S*. But from what you say, the 8Gb would be enough, even if I had 800 hits pr. day (1Gb hits, 8Gb=800 hits, in your calculation) It is a hotel with 200mb of space, and I admin it the way I want (xx mb site,xx mb database, xx mb mail). This is their second largest hotel, the bigger one is with 500mb of free space, and if I opgrade to that one they have promissed me more than the 8Gb a month, but ofcourse if your calculations is right, I would have enough *SS*.
Anyone knows how much Traffic Snitz is generating?????, monthly!. |

A hit is recorded each time an image is loaded so for this page alone there are close to 100 hits, I think you may be talking about visitors, in which case 100 visitors will not generate nearly 8 gb of traffic unless you are hosting big videos or something on the server. If you host 10 MB videos and they are downloaded 8 times that's 80 MB, but 800 times and you're up to 8 GB
So think about if you are hosting really big images or movies how many times they'll be downloaded and if it's just a snitz forum I don't think you will have much to worry about. |

You should very easily have enough bandwidth. Usually people would be surprised by how little bandwidth things take sometimes. My site is currently using about 800 mb's a day. I have http compression enabled though so I do not know if IIS logs is counted before or after the compression. My site does however host quite a few pictures that members upload etc. No video's yet but planning on it this winter. |

Okay, thanks Again, seems like 8Gb isn't lesser nor bigger bandwidth, so for the price they ask I seems fair enuogh. It is NOT just snitz, it is incooporated in my site, but the rest of my site is an information thing, ofcourse with some graphics, pictures and so, but no directly file upload/download for people *S*.
Anyone else like to share some bandwidth issues, just come on, we must be many to whom this concerns :-)

that is quite a lot, that would equate to around 23Gb a month |
