Right, I'm completely new to this. I downloaded the LATEST VERSION of Snitz, and i've now got a folder with loads of icons and some vb files in it.
Where do i go from here?
Thanks in advance! |

Cheers for your help mate, much appreciated.
Are there any you'd suggest, also, is it really that hard to get one of these forums online and workin? |

I don't know anything about any free hosts. Read the posts at that other forum to find out about them.
IMO, Snitz is extremely easy to setup. Only two lines in one file to change to get it up and running. |

No. If you are completely new at it it may be. But once its up it is a breeze. I used brinkster. http://www.brinkster.com I would recommend brinkster. The forum script already has a part in the config.asp for it. Open a brinkster account. Go to this line in config.asp: 'strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("/USERNAME/db/snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 2000 on Brinkster Put in your username and the name of your database (rename it dont keep it the one that came with the download. Uncomment the line of code I gave you above (remove the ') Create a directory for your forum file. Minus the database and the readme upload all the other files to that directory. Log in to your forum: http://www34.brinkster.com/yourusername/yourforumname/default.asp Make sure you check the readme for the fine points i missed. |

Glad I could help! I remember when I was stuck for what seemed like weeks (and probably was) wondering what to do with 100 some files of chicken scratch. No offense, snitz(!), but that is what it looks like to the beginner. |
