I'm probably going to be making a mod or two for speedball in the coming weeks. Probably a Poll/Survey type mod, and an avatar mod. Maybe something else. Basically whatever I end up adding to my own forum i'll release in MOD form for Speedball.
And Sam I Am003, yes you'd need to re-install your mods, and some might not work, so i suggest making a copy of both your forum and database, and play with that until you're confident. |

Thanks Jeremy, and i used my old database (as i wanted for all old messeges to still remeain present), but does anyone know what mod's will not work with this one? Mostly all i need are -avatar mod -newsletter mod -private messages mod -poll mod and probably some others. Do any popular ones not work? |

I couldnt tell you which don't work, i'm brand new to snitz, just wanted a light weight ASP message board with CSS and it ended up being SpeedBall. |

oh well, the re-installation of these mod's seems completely worth it. I just got it installed with my CSS and it ROX!
Is there a list somewhere of all the mods that have been changed/made for speedball2? |

No complains yet, a killer "mod" for sure. Would be nice with some more mods preinstalled and of course, full Xhtml compability.
Noticed an error: when entering the members menu and clicking to modify a member, then the login-box for administrator-validation is left-aligned instead of centered.
Any idea when the next version will be out and what will be new? |

Full xhtml compatibility will be next to impossible, as the way that the messages are stored and displayed is not condusive to XHTML stantdardisation and would require a major re-write. The foucs at the moment is very much on getting converted mods out there, so there is no future version planned...yet. Thanks for the tip on the login box,I'll post a fix asap. |

I have installed SpeedBall 2 on my site. Everything seems to work very well, but.. when I examine my iis logs thons off 404 errors appear as below:
2004-04-17 06:23:04 195.193.168.150 GET /forum2/none - - 80.127.93.5 2004-04-17 06:23:07 195.193.168.150 GET /forum2/none - - 80.127.93.5

I have an installation at http://www.my-maltese.com/forum/. The installation is Speedball 2.0 using Access database. There are no additional MODS installed. I had everything working fine for several weeks and now I have a problem... You can view the forum without being logged on, no problem. When you try to login as any existing user you get the following error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Operation must use an updateable query.
/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 593
Any ideas what can be causing this?
