Just thought I would share this one... recieved from a customer... I didn't realy realize that we were important when listed on this site... but I guess it's true :)

I opened up my email this afternoon to peruse the plethora of messages. I
took a look through the SANS Institute CVA, and low and behold, there is
Snitz forum listed. I've never actually known anyone that made the big SANS
list, so I just had to say something (don't ask me why).

Congrats :) we're in the big leagues :)

Yeah, isnt making that list a bad thing in the security world?

Yes... it's one of those big security organizations that find bugs in people's applications, and then do not tell the developer, but publish the errors on their website for hackers and anyone else who wants to see what is going on to find out how to hack your application... rather than confronting or helping the developers... so it's not a great list to be on... as ruirib said :) but it's one of the big ones... they only list people that they consider to be in the "Big Time"...

So it's a slap in the face on one side... but a big Cudo's on the other :) So good job everyon :)

I find this to be hilarious:
quote:
SANS is the trusted leader in information security research, certification and education
I don't trust any so-called "security" site, such as this one, bugtraq, securityfocus, etc..

I guess they aren't trusted with developers but with hackers and software customers.

wait a second ... there was a new member a while back from SANS that said he would do what he could to help us make the product secure. I'm sure that has something to do with this latest listing there.

Snitz has been listed on SANS since about May last year with the members.asp exploit, Snitz has appeared in this CVA at least 4 or 5 other times that I'm aware of.

I have to dissagree with you though Mike, being listed here should not be kudos to all, it's really a rather bad thing ! I don't think you need to be listed on what many sysadmins refer to as the "list of things not to install" to know how well this software has done. If you want Kudos then simply type Snitz into google and see how many hits you get theres proof enough the forum has done well (I get well over half a million hits !!).

oh I agreed with you in my post Gremlin... :) Thats why I said it is a slap in the face on one side... on the other side it does say that we're big enouph (everyone here) to be considered to be listed. It is a double edged sword.
