This is the url I looked at

http://wethepeopleforum.com/forum/portal_content.asp

If I am not looking at the wrong url then I hate to say it for me it is GREY all GREY...that is grey, white, black with gold and white buttons. I don't know what your monitor settings are at but mine are on a fairly new flat panel screen with 1024 X 768 using 32 True bit color (which is the highest colors you can get). I use green in my own site. So I know my monitor can see green.

I also checked it on my husbands monitor it shows grey... I asked him what color he saw and he said "different shades of grey".

So either your eyes see green or your monitor is off. You wouldn't be the first person I met with different color recognition in the eyes. Actually knew a guy in college who was color blind.

Do a poll on your site to find out what the mass sees your colors as. Ask them if they see a green back or a grey back. Or ask people you know. Choice is up to you.

But know that when you show changes here people are seeing different colors than you intended or see.

Also one hint when the RGB colors are very close in numbers that is when the color is Grey. I downloaded your green111.bmp file and clicked on a color in it the RGB value was 66 66 66 which is a grey scale color as well as 132 132 132 which is another grey scaled color.

I think this is were alot of the confusion lies with your site, is the colors you are picking out and using are not the colors we are seeing.

Many blessings to you,

Sacred

I know this has been commented on already, but I just have to say first, that if you post here, you need to expect criticism. Second, that I've noticed that a "delay" in responses occurs when our members are hesitant to comment, and this hesitation comes usually because nobody really wants to criticize the poster's site.

I suggest that you give a bit more creedence to the opinions of the moderators, admins, and senior members. Many of us here have seen countless sites with countless problems (mine included! I've never posted my site here because I know what others would say!! ). Some of the members are actually professional webdesigners (FrutZle, for one), so I'd pay particularly close attention to what they say. You should remember that when you get the feedback of some of the people here, you are actually getting feedback that is worth something on the open market.

So, all that said, I have to say that agree with the previous posts. Your header and graphics are too large, and your page is too graphics intensive. It is very slow to load and when I spin the scroll wheel, there is a delay. Yeah, I know that my graphics card could be better, but I really strongly believe that I shouldn't need a gamer's graphics card to visit a forum!

First of all, what goes around comes around.....the same goes for all that gives their opinions......
The header is not too large I like it this size...there are not too many graphics...the graphics i get are from the web ,their original size, some are even made smaller....and my page loads in 0.17 seconds......you must have really, really, really ,really slow dial up....or need a new comp...

Not sure why you ask for opinions when you can't take the negative ones. I posted my forum in "Show off your forum" to hear what people thought, what I could improve etc. to be able to provide a better forum for my visitors.

Finally, I have to agree with the previous posters, there are too many icons making the frontpage looking cluttered, and the buttons/headlines don't really fit the rest of the theme.

<<no i'm not color blind...only guys get that gene from their moms...>>

So are you a girl? Your profile doesn't say it.

In regards to your monitor, I would do some investigating before you replace it. It could be the monitor, video card or a loose cable. Take it to the other computer and plug it in and see if you still see green. If you still see green it is more thanlikely your monitor. If you see grey finally, then it is either a loose cable or the video card.

Or you can just take your whole computer into a shop and have them figure out.

OTHER TECHNICAL GLITCHES

1) You are using .bmp files for some of your graphics. While Netscape and IE on a windows operating system recognizes these file types, Macanitoshs, vax/vms browsers and Unix operating system browers will not. BMP files are Microsoft proprietary files so ONLY browsers on windows operating systems will recognize them. I would recommed converting them to either JPEG or GIF (standard format for graphical files on the internet).

Hope you are enjoying your weekend,

Sacred

I can take negative ones....it's just that I like what they don't..as for the buttons..I wanted to change them, butthe other person that runs it with melikes these ones ,and he is the one that changes them, and does all the techincal stuff behind the scenes..so until I learn how or have someone teach me..I guess it stays..I would have used silver instead of gold ,since the silver goes with the grey and black, but I honestly thought it was green,so thats why i used gold...thank u for ur opinion...

Yes I am a girl...I know my video card is new...but my monitior is 7 yrs old...so i'm thinking more on that line it may be the problem, but I have had no problems with it so far...I think I will take it upstairs and try it on that comp, and see what happens...
Thank you for all the good advice you have given...
As for the weekend........I'm not enjoying....:(

I've got ADSL Broadband connection and a computer about two years old at the moment and running this site it loads slowly and scrolling down the page takes a long time.

Maybe you could reduce the number of images. Apart from that it looks good !

Of course an initial view takes longer than one that has the images cached...

That is one reason we don't see it like a newbie...
Even here on Snitz the first view was slower
