reecee: Don't take negative messages as insults, rather I believe the previous posts provided constructive criticism. One of the largest problems I find in general is sometimes when people post their forums all they get is negative comments and a few one liners that say "looks good" or something like that. But the reason the "negative" (constructive) comments are made is to point out different perspectives that you may not have thought of when you designed the forum.
Anyways I don't want to sound like I'm preaching it's just an attitude I come accross very often, not only on online forums but just about many issues in general. |

I agree completely with UGBC...You post in the Show Off Forum, you are asking for comment and suggestions...That is just what you are getting, reeceecup.
Your members are the people that use the forum, not us. We are just here to critisize it, to help you make it better. Ask your users if they like the colors and the layout and stuff if you don't want out suggestions. |

I didn't read anything that seemed harsh or inappropriate. The header is huge, and the buttons are too large. Frankly, I think OneWayMule was being extremely polite when he commented on the colors.

Call it experience. That is something we have a lot of on this issue and because of that it is easy to make comments based upon a short intial review. The point being that if things are spotted instantly then that means the majority of your visitors will notice the same and that could potentially be a problem. Take into account that different people have different download times and the fact that you have a huge logo that takes time on a 56K connection is likely to stop repeat visits.
If you don't want comments about your site a) don't ask for them and b) poof away!

| I would have to agree with a lot of the comments that were stated. In my opinion, logo is too big, text for forum titles is way too big and I am on 1280 by 1024, I can't imagine it on 800 by 600. The colors do flow well together. Just a few things that need to be taken care of like have been stated. You have to take into consideration there are both bad and good comments. People don't get banned for suggeting things to do and things they don't like on a site here. |
