Sorry about that.... somehow the files lost ownership on the server. Should be fixed now. |

Can you put a username in the .inc file and ban that way? |

I wrote this as an option a long time ago, but elected not to use it over just locking the accounts. The code also has the option to auto-Ban any "locked" user. I should still have the code somewhere... if you really think you'll use it, I'll find it and post it.

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you change it in both places in the IPBlock.asp file.

I have the following in my include file
1##.36.0.0-1##.36.255.255
but people with these addresses are still getting through. I ahve tested using my personal ip and it does work (not part of the above string). The above is coming froma govt. but I can not figure why it does not do the job, does it look correct?
Could they be behind a proxy server somehow and this is why I can not capture them even initially?

Not sure about the ip addresses you have there but you don't come from behind a proxy server you come thru one. You will have a proxy server ip that shows up.
If you can't even get yours to work you need to find that problem first. For your own are you using the same ip for both of them? |

Sorry I was not clear, My IP can be blocked, so I know the code and setup works. BUT the IP's I identified above can not be blocked and I am unsure as to why, I ahve even gone as far as blocking like this: 1##.36.0.0-1##.36.255.255
and still addreess get in :( |

I just asked a friend who knows about ip's and he said they should both work. The last one would just cover more. Are you checking the ip that they are coming from after you set these in place and is it inside these. |

I would like the code for the username. The way i use the the ban is to not piss them off but think of cleaver ways to make him think the site is not working or just not there.

Sigh - Not sure what the problem is but this range of addresses will not ban, not Even when I select the specific one my work machine is on. It goes to a government site, pings ok but is un-bannable for some reason. |
