Images within Forum Titles are a nuisance and takes awhile to load the page.
Banner is a tad too big.
Colors don't match well (red, black, gray blue???) |

| I cant get the moderators column to go away I unchecked all moderation features.What I wa srally wanying to know is how to get rid on the black background in the third reply and every other reply after that? When i change it it chanbes the background in the forums on the all forums page. Do you suggest I change the black background or the font or both I was trying to use the colors of UGA Bulldogs. |

When I saw jaydee_z comment I thought it was harsh but now I think he wasn't far off the mark. Your forum needs lots of work and while I appreciate that not everyone has visual appreciation, I think you should be able to see that for yourself.
The best advice I can give is to take a look at the Snitz Hall of Fame from the Snitz homepage and look at some other Snitz forums to see what does look good and what can be achieved.
Maybe then you could have a think about your design and try something different.

Kat, Thats good advice. Only way i beleive in getting better is to learn from the best. I go through boards here and other places everyday looking around and trying to use stuff that i think i can use to make my board the best! Now, you have to remember that your not the only one who is going to view your board. Alot of times something you might like others won't. So you have to have like user friendly interfaces and colors. To make it more homey.
I'm sorry to be so harsh like kat reffered to. But, i am just giving you some helpful critizim. It don't bother me when someone has something bad to say about my board. If they say something that is "Harsh" i go through and see what they was talking about. If i decide to change it because others say the same thing i will.

| no problem thats why I asked however I did originaly have this post in the how to do section as I just wanted to know how to stop the black background on the replys. I was not trying to say I created a special forum I was just using the stock Variables that came with the program. I would love to be able to do some of the stuff others are doing but I am a rookie and it will take time until then thanks for your opinion. |

One more vote for "toning down" the red, maybe a "darkred" substitution would still give you the look you want without such a harsh contrast on the eyes.
I would also recommend getting rid of the flashing text, I am very much for a simpler easier interface but after all it is your board

Much, much better with these changes.  You're getting there! I think the red you're using is a tad too bright, though. Just needs to be toned down a bit.
Another Snitzer has a forum that might be good for you to look at to get ideas. He's using similar colors, so take a look here to see what you could do with the right color combination:

If you're wondering how this user achieved the "gradient" effect in the red part of his forum, it's with a MOD, the background image one. I use it on my site, too. It's pretty simple, but amazingly effective in giving your forum a whole new look and feel.
Anyway, there are a lot of helpful people here who will try to help you with installing MODs and other tweaks if you need help. |
