My friend has seen a few forums i have made for friends and has asked me to make him one but, he cant use ASP so i am goin to try and do one with PHPBB forums. I have never coded in PHP before so it should be a eye opener
Any tips?
Also, anyone know any good free hosts i can use to test it on? |

I use phpBB, took no more than 1 minute to install it (with an empty database).
You don't need to know PHP, no editing of code neccesary. All you need is a new database and a DSN. SQL Server, mySQL, Access, etc.
Free host...try Lycos UK, http://www.lycos.co.uk/ It's SLOW but I believe it works. |

PHPBB + Access is SLOW! use MySql
You may also consider IBForums, they are both quality applications |

Slow doesn't begin to describe it. I once set up some phpBB forums for someone there and it was so slow that I didn't go there anymore once it was set up. Paid hosting really showed its advantages. |
