I'm currently working on it nearly full-time but, I have no ETA. On the other hand, beta 4 will not be an usable version. It will rather be a bug-fishing version.
It took a while because there are too many changes to the code. It is NOT like beta 3 where we used nearly the same code.
v4b04 alpha 01 level code has been under alpha test for two months (dev-team only). We'll continue with alpha 02 (to be online in a couple of days). This version includes database changes and related setup/upgrade procedures.
There are some remaining stuff such as multi language e-mails and better UTF-8 support.

Okay, but will v40b04 be useable for running a forum? Or is it better to wait for 4.0 ?
Because I need an international version of 3.4< |

I'll do my best to make it unusable for production. You will have to dig a lot to make it useable. If one can dig so much, that person is preassumably knowing what he/she is doing and will monitor this site for changes/patches.
This is not because I'm a sadist but because I don't think that b4 will be mature enough to be a wide use showcase...
My current plan is:
- 1/26/2003: v4b04 alpha 02 - dev-team only release including setup/upgrade, so that they can have a first look
- 2/01/2003: v4b04 alpha 03 - dev-team only release including some more stuff like revised e-mail processing etc. This will also include full 1033 langpack and old langpacks also adapted to new version for test.
- 2/08/2003: v4b04 alpha 04 - dev-team release latest fixes/additions. I hope to solve some latest utf-8 related issues, bi-di and security related changes here. I plan to share the language packs with the translators so that they can start with the untranslated half.
- 2/15/2003: v4b04 RC1 - dev-team + translators full release with latest fixes/additions.
- Then,... I don't know... It realy depends on the results of above steps and dev-team help I can get...
The above plan is a very crude one. It can fail or succeed.
After v4b04 the next step is v4 RCn...
