Also (this has happened twice) I will suddenly get this error at the bottom of my page (where site statisics [counter]):
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e10'

No value given for one or more required parameters.

/reducks87/tplforum/inc_sitestat.asp, line 369

I reupload inc_sitestat.asp and it works fine.
What wrong?

OK, I uploaded that new inc_sitestat.asp file. Changed the admin setting to database, and no error comes up, great. But the counter still isn't counting. What is going on??

I have place the file sitestat.txt in the root so c:\sitestat.txt

And when i give this in admin options i get congratiulations so it is sopose to work. But when i go to the site statistics configuration the path to the sitestat.txt is changed to c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myhomepage\forum\sitetstat.txt

What can i do about the problem?

ED195KW,
can you open the access file? If yes, can you see if the tables are there! This should be working now!

dhutten,
if you have placed the sitestat.txt in the root of c:\ then thats what you have to key in. Try to set the path again, as the mod will also test first if the txt exists where you state it. It then saves the path in the db. Tell me what the outcome is.

rgrund,

The table shows up fine, but the counts never change. Also, the member # is now blank?

What would be going wrong? Is it possible that the permissions on the folder are affecting it? I have also just installed the photo album mod and can't upload pics, keep getting a message saying that the file was not uploaded to system contact admin.

What am I doing wrong here? It's probably something really simple I bet.

PLEASE HELP ME...

I also get the following error on my default.asp

Got a few more questions:

(1) What happens here is that when a topic is read or a post is read, the txt or mdb file just plus 1 to the value right? Sorry about asking this but I tried one program and they log everything then calculate later and that was major waste of space, bandwidth and loading time.

(2) Anyone tested this on sql server 2000?

Hi wizard,
the sitestat works the following:

every page within the forum or outside the forum which references to the inc_sitestat.asp increments the counter by 1. Currently this version only counts pages, visitors and on todays day, yesterday and then the month.

the calculation is always done at the same time so one will not need to make any calculation afterwards.
