My forum is getting loads of guests with the same ip addy. I know this is spidering from search engines. When your site gets spidered does that mean that you site is going to be put into the search engine?

Moved here from the Help: General / Current Version (v3.4.xx) forum as it's not a request for help that's related to the forums

This topic fits in a lot better with the Community Discussions than in the General help forum.

Even if your forums get spidered, it can take a while before a search in the "spidering" search engine will actually turn up any results from your forums.

Exactly, and notice that private forums will not be indexed. I know you have several.

It depends on which search engine. Some of them may spider your site but not place your forum topics onto search results. Google at least lets you check for search results that were ommitted and that's where my topics usually end up although other parts of my site are used for search results. They seem to be very smart spiders if they can tell one kind of dynamic content from another.

Also, alot of search engines don't include asp generated files in their listings. Google itselfdoes, but many that use googles as their engine don't. For these check out the Topic Maker mod at http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=33931.

What ????

mirage, your forum is online, not in your computer - you need FTP to make changes to the forum, but I thought you have done that already since you upgraded the forum ????
