can anybody tell me, to which commercial product Snitz is mostly compareable?

I did some research on commercial products vs Snitz for a previous job. I didn't manage to find one with a 'good enough' comparable features list, so we went with Snitz.
My old boss used to amaze me - he was determined we should spank some cash on a forum solution because it 'would be better than a free/open source one'. And yes I did leave at least in part due to that kind of attitude! |

I asked because some of my friends want to decide next days which forum they want to use on their website. They told me, that the want to use a commercial one, because the features would be better. I canīt believe this, because Iīve never seen a better forum like this one.
Could it be that there are expensive ones arround?
I am also intrested in hearing about the prices to show them the comparrison between the forums. Maybe after this they give Snitz a try. I would like that! |

Before I found Snitz I used to use UBB - my boss even bought it. I think Snitz is SO much better even just for the 'yes, but I want MY forum to work like THIS' attitude, and the fantastic support community.
I always prefer open source as well  |

We abandoned our UBB forum months after installing it in favor of Snitz. I also have a problem in my job if I find a good product that's cheap. I had to completely set up a CandyPress store filled with our companies products and with formatting to match our corporate look before I could get anyone to agree. There is this attitude that something expensive must be better which may often be the case but to assume it's always the case is a huge mistake.
I haven't seen a single commercial forum that can compare with Snitz 3.4. Perhaps I haven't looked around enough but I have definately looked at a lot of different forums over the last few years.

I donīt want to setup a commercial forum. I just want to know the prices of some of them to show my friends how much better AND also cheaper a sollution based on Snitz is.
What I am searching for are the most expensive sollutions on the market to make a comparison. Does anybody know REALLY expensive forums? |

| Snitz is best ASP forum in the universe. There are maybe some better forums that are written in php like vBulletin, but doesn't really have more features. And also costs like $100/year or something. |

I have a different problem at my company. Not invented here. All the developers think that they can build a better forum than Snitz, or comission an outside developer to create a better forum than Snitz.
Having worked with them on several different projects, I think they have an undeservedly high opinion of their coding abilities. Snitz is an excellent product. It is far better than anything the corporate IT guys could develop on their best day. The sooner they admit that and move one the better.
