Just got Dreamweaver MX and started looking at some javascript in 'code view'. Because the default for javascript strings is to appear in italics in code view if I follow a double quote with a space the double quote appears as a single qoute. I guess its because the space is not in italics hence it covers part of the double quote.

Anyway it will drive me bonkers for obvious reasons so of I go to Edit>Preferences to change it, and although I can change the setting for javascript strings it makes no difference, they still display in italics !!

So my question is for anyone using Dreamweaver MX do you have the same problem with the way double qoutes in js are displayed and if so did edit>Preferences work for you?

Its all a shame really cos I liked the strings in italics!

I hardly ever use Dreamweaver MX, but since you mentioned it I loaded a website template I made a while ago and added some simple JavaScript to it (from the behaviors panel) and only JavaScript comments and strings are italic in code view, and double quotes show up just fine there.

Thanks FrutZle, I will experiment with the fonts to see if that helps.

I never changed anything in DMX about fonts used or how code view "works" (I use Homesite+ instead of DMX), but I did change the default font used by Windows, so that might have something to do with it.
