I am trying to upgrade my forum from 3.3.05 to 3.4.03.

1) I backed up and closed my forum
2) I created another directory for 3.4.03, set the config.asp and ran setpup.asp. Everything updated fine.
3) Then I renamed my /forum directory to /forumold
4) Finally I renamed the temp directory to /forum

Shouldn't this work? I cleared my cache but still the the message that my forum is closed. When I go to login_admin.asp, I get an error message "There has been a problem! You are not allowed access." When I check the Snitz logo, it says I'm running 3.4.03 now.

Any help? Why can't I login as Admin and how do I reopen my forum? I tried running setup.asp after changing the directory names which said Forum setup completed. Then return to forum leads to down.asp.

I hadn't done that.

Interestingly, when I changed the directory from the /forum to the temp directory, it worked fine under that path.

My database should be upgraded okay. I am ftping the 3.4.05 files back to an empty /forum directory and will try running setup.asp again.

It appears that old files are remaining at the server. For example, I deleted the entire /forum directory so I could start from scratch. Even though there is no more forum directory, when I use my browser to go to http://www.mydomain.com/forum/default.asp - it says "The forum is currently being upgraded..."

What the heck!?!? I'm talking to my web host now.

It seems when I changed my folder names, there were old 3.3.5 files mixes with 3.4.03. What a mess.

Yep, webhost had to clear the objects or something. Good to go now.

Looks like it was a caching problem. Pretty common (and annoying too).
