Hey, my site is at http://freespace.virgin.net/sheila.crofts/MatterBlaster.html
I have a forum in a frameset on the site, and it won't remember login information It does remember it though if the forum is opened in a new window.
Is there a fix for this plz
Thanks. Tom. |

My site is in frames and I had the same problem. I bet you are using XP and IE6 right? NS7 doesn't have the problem. Either login with NS7, or add your site to the trusted sites under the security tab in IE6 internet options. It worked for me and another user.
Sometimes frames are a necessary evil. |

I don't know about that, I have not found any thread here that flat out explains it. The webmaster over at http://www.dhtmlcentral.com has accomplished this but he's using 3.1SR4, not sure if that matters. |

Well I remember seeing some posts here about the issue, though I've never paid that much attention to it, since I simply hate frames, never used them before and never will. But I think I saw something posted somewhere with advice that could be useful.
Crash also uses frames and his forum works without problems. |

Maybe changing the setting in "Main Forum Configuration" field "Set Cookie To:" to -Website- helps (or not!)

'I bet you are using XP and IE6 right?' IE6 yes, but W98SE. I wish I had stuck to IE5 now... I had far few problems with that version
'Maybe changing the setting in "Main Forum Configuration" field "Set Cookie To:" to -Website- helps (or not!)' I all ready tried that and it didn't work. The forum is run from a different web-host, so would that make it not work |

Quite likely. This is a problem with IE's privacy settings. Maybe change the privacy settings so that IE accepts all cookies, even third party cookies and maybe that will help. |
