it was www.funinbc.com/funforum/forum but after I updated and tested the site(everything was working) I moved the forum to www.funinbc/forum.

again the problem is I can see the new posts on the front page from /forum but all the links point to funforum/forum of course I get errors because it is not there anymore.

The forum-url point looks like http://funinbc.com/forum/

Have you refreshed your forum variables? To do this easily try to use admin_run_config.asp

I don't know if this is right but I took just the content.asp of your
newest update and moved to my forum. This is the error I am getting:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'CDchkForumAccess'

/forum/content.asp, line 74

Line 74 reads:
74)if CDchkForumAccess(rsFList("FORUM_ID"),MemberID) then
75) FListCount = FListCount + 1
76) if FListCount > 1 then
77) ForumList = ForumList & ", "
78) end if

I am getting the same error. I was using the previous files with no problem and the new files seem to have a new function: CDchkForumAccess I can't find where this function is defined, it shows up in the if statements in lines 91 and 74 of thec content.asp file.

By the way, is the latest update also updated for the standalone Articles mod you have posted here as well or is this still the old one? If this is the old one will we notice a difference and/or can both mods be installed and work together? Thanks

Whoops. I totally forgot that function! My bad
Thanks for pointing it out. I have updated the zip with that function in inc_contentdisplay.asp.

Oh, and nothing in this zip will interfere with my other article MOD in any way. You can definately use both at the same time. I do.

That fixed that problem. I found the function in the Topics.asp file without the CD and with a 3rd variable true/false and changed it and everything came up. I don't have the entire mod installed and I am just using content and content display. The old files used to give me AVATARS but the new ones will not. In addition a continuing problem is Flash in the topic messes up DM 7 SM 1. It eliminates the header cell and moves the icons up along side the topic rather then below. DM 4 and SF 1 gives me an error message only. (out of range)

Do I need to install theentire mod to make this work? Does not seem like it should matter. Are their some combos that are not allowed?

I am still getting an error when I select option 3 (3 = Detailed: Displays topics with message & details next to topic link)

(as in my previous post-- this page)

I have updated the Content.asp and inc_contentdisplay.asp and this what it now shows:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01c2'

Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment: 'WritePostingDetails'

/../forum/content.asp, line 383

Line 383 reads:

Call WritePostingDetails()

I give up

Even off a totally clean install it does not work.

Same error every time, every way I do it.

I've tried every suggestion and idea, with my installation, and a brand new, clean, installation of snitz and this mod.

Maybe you want remote access to some files so you can try some things?? I don't know, I want this to work, I don't see why it isn't. You are useless in helping, I've told you what I can, and I'm not seeing any results, just ignorance and no help.

I don't know how you guys manage to do it...dude, you have to be more clear in your instructions because they are very *****y and hard to follow, very unorganised too.

I've posted and read away and I'm not making any progress here, nor am I really getting any help.

I will continue to watch for this to come out of beta. Until then, it's off my server permanantly, just trash, clutter, and a waste of space. Good luck pal, you'll need it..

Funny, i got it to work on alot of forums... tested it on a server hacker forum the other day, a clean forum and a image forum, all seemed to work.
Maybe it is something wrong with your sever.
I will make a clean install tomorrow and send you the files so you can upload them and see if they work, if they dont then it's something wrong at your end.

Ohh, and dont be so rude, everyone has tried there best to help you.

Sorry, doesn't look like it really.

What do you think it could be?

Something new:
I'm working on this at www.dev.aquillar.com/body.asp with the forums at www.dev.aquillar.com/forum if you want to look.

I've extracted the content files in the forum folder as well as that root folder.

using the file www.dev.aquillar.com/forum/contentdisplay_tester.asp" target="_blank">http://www.dev.aquillar.com/forum/contentdisplay_tester.asp and only modifying the first numbers in the Content display line (DisplayContent 0, 1, 2, 12, 0, 5, 200, 0, 5, 0, 1, 0, "Top News Stories", 450) I get the following error:

quote:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01c2'

Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment: 'DisplayContent'

/dev/forum/contentdisplay_tester.asp, line 50

now I tihnk this is because the last part is missing, srtLink, some tester..so I added any URL, anything, doesn't matter if it exists or not, and I get the following error as usual:

quote:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e10'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too few parameters. Expected 2.

/dev/forum/content.asp, line 122

Maybe this might help? I doubt it. So I'm going to post the SQL string just before that line..

/forum/content.asp
122: response.write(strSQL)
123: rs.open strSql, my_Conn, adOpenStatic, adLockReadOnly, adCmdText

quote:
SELECT F.F_SUBJECT, F.F_DESCRIPTION, T.T_STATUS, T.CAT_ID, T.FORUM_ID, T.TOPIC_ID, T.T_SUBJECT, T.T_MESSAGE, T.T_VIEW_COUNT, T.T_LAST_POST, T.T_DATE, T.T_REPLIES, T.T_AUTHOR, T.T_MSGICON, M.MEMBER_ID, M.M_NAME, M.M_EMAIL, M.M_RECEIVE_EMAIL, M.M_HOMEPAGE, M.M_PHOTO_URL, M.M_AVATAR_URL FROM ((FORUM_FORUM F INNER JOIN FORUM_TOPICS T ON F.FORUM_ID = T.FORUM_ID) INNER JOIN FORUM_MEMBERS M ON T.T_AUTHOR = M.MEMBER_ID) WHERE T.CAT_ID = 1 ORDER BY T.T_LAST_POST DESC
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e10'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too few parameters. Expected 2.

/dev/forum/content.asp, line 123

Inless that first stuff is helpful I've posted all this before, just this time it's a totally clean install of everything.

hi~ Aquillar,

at first, this mod NEVER working on a "clean" snitz forum....
you'll at least need Avatar Mod(Hamlin) & Message Icon Mod installed,
or remove the T.T_MSGICON, M.M_AVATAR_URL related code by yourself if no these two mod.

and make sure your body.asp have the necessary files included.(see the instruction..) the error message seem just cause from the missing data fields refered.(T.T_MSGICON, M.M_AVATAR_URL) hope it not a database issue... (i notice that.. you still use a old Access Driver connect string, not sure is it cause your problem...)

anyway, do'nt give up too early... just try it again!

Hallo,

I just installed this Mod, expecting a lot of problems, but no, it works
just great. I think it is a little bit unfair to make such a lot of noise, because some small bugs. I also had two problems (wrong number of
parameters, definetelly bugs for example

content.asp line 383

Call WritePostingDetails()

should be

Call WritePostingDetails(T_Topic_ID)

I guess.

But, instead of shouting around just look through the code, and solve the problems. Be thankful that somebody took the time to write such a nice thing. I am thankful, Thank you @Tomic, you saved me a week of work, (or more) because I planned to do something like this

@Aquillar

Please start to use a little bit of common sense. Check your database if all the required fields are avaiable, check if the funstion calls have all the required parameters e.t.c. In the case you do not know ASP/VBS just buy a good book and start reading. Installing Mods requires knowledge about programming and the programming language. If you do not have this knowledge, just do not install Mods.
