http://www.revolution-in-education.com/forums/config.asp

I had this site working with a lot of help ( reading all of the other advice from this site ). As I was making some final changes the site stopped working! In trying tko fix it, I even lost my backup copies.

What I get is a blank screen when I go to config.asp. I am using FP2000 with Access 97. I would like to keep the access 97 db. I have seen 2000 is better, but know body has said why.

I am starting to think I might have a problem in my ME. If someone could access the site to see if they do get a screen (even a error message, I will know which way to go).

PS: The path to config.txt is http://www.revolution-in-education.com/forums/config.txt

That is the way it should be.
config.asp contains information used by other forum pages, and does not display anything.

There's nothing wrong with your forum.

A blank screen is what you should get for config.asp .
I think you're looking for default.asp.

I ran setup.asp and found that your not connecting to your db.
Did you edit config.asp to point to your db?

You should read the readme.txt file that comes with the file you've downloaded.

I also suggest you check out the "Installation Guide" link in my signature.

I am using FP2000.

Have you been editing the forum with FP2000?
From what I've read , FP can cause problems with the forum code.

Also , read the config.txt file you posted.
You should rename the db something other than snitz_forums_2000.mdb and place it above the root if possible. If you can't do that then make the name of the db very difficult to guess.

You need to check your connect string all together.

Regardless of warnings, I often use FP2000 to edit the forum code with few if any problems.

If you open config.asp in FP, the page will always be blank. Click the html tab to gain access to the asp script. You should make sure your FP is configured to preserve html.
