When the time come for me to upgrade http://www.nintendo4you.dk/forum/ to 3.4 I want to know about this:

Could I use the old MODS in the new version?
Are it hard to upgrade with already MODS installed?

I don't think you can upgrade and save the mods you have, in fact I gonna say no you cant upgrade and keep your mods.

I don't know if the current mods will work with the new version, it has been discussed before, they may/will need to be updated.

I would say that it will be anywhere from extremely hard to only-a-bottle-of-scotch-can-cure-my-pain hard. Or you can use Huwr's modded forum.

I think the 3.4 Active Users MOD, Private Messages 3.3, but others I'm not sure, but the time will show!
