I apologize if this has already been discussed. I was wondering if there had been any discussion on placing all images in an image folder, includes in an include folder, pop in a pop folder, admin in admin folders, etc., in future versions? I realize this wouldn't provide any performance advantages, but it might make the main directory more readable.

No, there are no plans for this. We did include the strImageUrl variable so that users can do this on their own (move all images to a different folder).
We have always tried to make the forum as easy to install as possible. By keeping all of the files in the same directory, it makes it that much easier to setup. |

I don't agree with this. Simply, categorizing, or classifiying the things (here putting them into different folders) makes it easier to understand, and less confusing for the people to setup.

upload all files to 1 directory = easy
create multiple directories on webserver and then have to upload certain files to certain directories = harder
if y'all want to put certain files in certain directories, by all means, go right ahead, that's your choice. That's one of the benefits of this forum, you can customize it pretty much however you want to.
This forum is meant to be maintained through the Admin Options. The directory structure should never even have to be looked at. |

I've manually done this to my forum, but if you do this yourself, be aware that some files need to be grouped with certain other files to function properly. i.e. dbs_ files should be included in the admin_ directory when installing mods. Also, in v3.3xx, image tags may not always be consistant and therefore may need to be changed for the images to show up correctly.
