Saludos:

ok, in english (perdona por mi malo malísimo inglés):

Can i know what version number that i have?

Is it easy to install the newest version over my current version?

What's MOD?

The biggest problem that i have is that a person reply a post, then the forum must send automatically a email to the post sender and no funciona!!!

What file must change?

Ok, that's all, if you understand anything please reply me in a easy language

Thanks a lot

Nineu, you can find the download for v.40Beta3 here: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=25195
Check the 3rd post. You'll also find there a link to a file named AllPost40b03patches.zip.

To install Snitz v.4.0 you need to download the base version files. Use Winzip and put them at folde in your computer.
Then unzip all the files from AllPost40b03patches.zip and put then over the base version files. Yes, the files in this AllPost40b03patches.zip should replace the ones in the base version code.

Finally look a bit below in that topic: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=25195 .
You will find to the Spanish WorkGroup where I think you'll find a link to the Spanish language pack. This spanish language pack only has the the file lang1034.asp which has the "text" used in the forum. To have a forum completely in Spanish you will need to create some images yourself, as explained here: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30037

Then read the readme.txt file. It has a section on how to configure v.4.0. You can also have a look at config.asp, you will need to change some things in that file too.

One of the changes needed in config.asp is the strConnString. You should change the value of StrConnString to point to your "old" database. Make a backup copy of the database, put it in a safe place, and then just run setup.asp. After this you should have a spanish forum with the latest functionality and all the latest security fixes.

If you need any further help just ask. Also if you failed to understand something here, tell me and I'll try to write it in Spanish.

What base version? V3.3.05? Have I to download this version in http://forum.snitz.com/?

Now I going to:
download v3.3.05
download AllPost40b03patches.zip
download lang1034.asp

v3.3.5 before than AllPost40b03patches.zip to overwrite duplicate files, isn't it?

And after the download, i'll make the changes. UF!!

I think that i'll need a lot of lucky (?) (necesitaré suerte)

Thanks a lot (te avisaré si tengo algún problema)

Gracias

I'm working very hard...

..but i have one simple problem. I can't conect with database. The error is:

quote:
The database could not be opened !!
Check your config.asp file and set the
strConnString so it points to the database.
Also check if strDBType is set to the right databasetype.

Code : 80004005

my .mdb file is in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\tools\snitz_forums_2000

and in config.asp file I use

strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\tools\snitz_forums_2000.mdb" '## MS Access 2000

I have XP and IIS and all Forum Snitz is in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ except database that it's in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\tools

What's the problem?

Thanks a lot

No. Version 4.0Beta3 files, that you can find here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sf2k/sf2k_v40_b03.zip

You cannot mix 3.3.05 with 4.0Beta.
