I want to use another start page than the forum page (default.asp) can I rename the currently default.asp to forum.asp without errors?

Default.asp is hardcoded in most, if not all the forum files. So you would need to change those too.

I didn't encounter any problems after renaming it. (you have to change the default.asp occurances in default.asp accordingly.)
