I'm an ASP retard and found this combination to work quite well if you run IIS.

This combination performs well (with a spartan interface) at speeds just as fast as my FTP (for single up/downs up to 50MB tested).
Toss a couple (secure) links in your board and pretty up the respective pages and you've got a respectable file transfer system (if you're ASP illiterate like myself).
The two are intended for small forums like mine, that would like to have a bit more convenience than an FTP. And you won't have to mess with a 3rd party program like ASPUpload.
I'm sure some of the ASP whiz's can integrate this into a board quite quickly and that would be appreciated.
I only offer it up because it's soooo simple and easy. At least if you run a server that is.
