1) Ok, will stick some monitors on it, could you make a note of the exact error next time you get one

2) NO, that would havee meant reconfiging the Snitz db which was not something I wanted to do, so it uses the standard Snitz search code, I have just redone the queeries so they are more optimised for SQL.

Ok on both counts. However the error is not very descriptive. Just the OLEDB Error: and and 80xxx code. Nothing more than that.

Wait..., I've managed to recreate it. Here you have the query and the error message:

No need for image to be here any longer...

Nope, just trying to get all the user's posts. Maybe choosing the Any Words options in this situation is the problem?

err, NO, not giving it anything to search for is the problem.

You have then selected Any words, whitries to split your non existent search string into
individual words, which it can't. 'Exact phrase' would have been ok, why did you choose 'Any words' when you hadn't actually entered any ?

Well I really don't know. I agree it doesn't make any sense to choose the Any Words option.

Next time I update it, I will make it default to 'Exact Phrase' if nothing is entered into the search box, then it won't try to split it into individual words.

I have added a check now, will try and replace it later today.

By the way, you can also sort the grid by clicking on the column titles.

A little more explanation

Sometimes if a user post an error message and I think I can remember a post about it I search on the error, just copy and paste it in the box, normally these errors are like contain those little ' thingys like Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005' (only example I can find in active topics page ), I noticed that if I leave the two ' in there I get the error, so now I just remove them…

Or am I the only one who leaves them in any way

No, you aren't the only one, I normally do aswell, I will try and post a fix later today so that it works, it was working fine initially, must have broke it in the last update.

I suggest you re-read the first post in the thread, then use the correct search link.
