I get an "OLE Error" sometimes it seems to just go away after a while

It runs great. Too bad it's not cross-browser supported, but I understand the difficulty there.
My first question after seeing it is could it be adapted to replace active.asp. That's typically the biggest drain and most popular destination on my website.

I could make it NS compat, but it would look pretty horrible.
Not really, it is a search engine, doesn't function in the same way. 3.4 will give you much better performance.

Now that this is mentioned, it did happen to me a few times also. It didn't like that it had anything to do with the query itself, because repeating the query a few times, or closing the search browser window and opening a new one usually fixes it.

Have noticed something on the new search. At home, I use IE 6 and everything is working fine. At work, it`s IE 5.5 and it works also, except one thing. I can`t choose the option to search the archive. Doesn`t work. What could be the matter?

Not sure, good be a layout overflow or something, so the checkbox is being covered over by something, have you tried tabbing to it, then use the space bar to select, does that work ?

Using the space bar doesn`t work. Noticed, that i could click on the box and check it if I point my mouse exactly at the bottom right corner of the checkbox. This works. Also, I have played around a little with the HTML code. Placing the checkbox in a separate line works also. Using the space bar doesn`t work.

unfortunately playing with the html is not an option, it is all created on the fly, there is no html in the application. I will however move the checkbox to a different position when I get chance.

I was thinking of making it a little more generic and may release it at some point for those who can use it. It is basically a running as a self contained webserver currently, so you just have to run it, although I will most likely turn it into an ISAPI dll if I release it

Huw, 2 things:
1. I got that OLE error again, yesterday. I can't reproduce it now, so it's not related to the query, but it's still there...
2. Just out of curiosity, are you using full text search for this?
