Version 3.1 Service Release 3 has been released

Get it here

Fixes:
<ul><li>Security problems when username contains script-code</li><li>locked members could post</li><li>members could post in locked forums when the knew the url</li><li>and some other small problems...</li></ul>

Because this is a Service Release there are no new features, just a few tweaks like in the active topics page and the search page and a checkbox is you don't want the logon information (cookie) to stay on your harddisc after you close the browser.

In the past, there was a separate download option - files that have changed.

Is that going to be made available or have there been modifications to a lot of files? Just wondering.

Could you tell me which pages have been modified from 3.1 SR2 final? It would save me alot of time when translating.

Also, is the url bug fixed? I mean, the <url="blah">Blah</url> code (replace < and > with [ and ]) doesn't work in my forums (3.1 SR2).

No there won't be a zip-file.
I build this versoin on Version 3.1 SR3 Beta 4
I didn't reset the dates though, so you can see what files are changed since that beta.

That's fine. I was fully aware that I modified my copy at "my own risk". <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
But I didn't think there'd be another release so soon. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Have there been any db changes that you can recall?

Just one last question....if on the very remote possibility <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> that a bug is found and you have to make changes to a file for sr3, will you update the zip file for sr3? Is there a possibility that someone else could download that file a couple weeks later and it will be different than the one I downloaded tonight?

Keep up the good work!
THANKS!! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I refuse to be the bearer of bad news, so I will give the good first.

Just talked to Santa and the Reindeer are feeling great, weather reports look good. He expects no delays and a smooth ride <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

For the bad news:
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03ea'
Syntax error
?

Straight install on PWS. Is it just me or anyone else having this problem? Setup goes through fine, and this is will the included database.

slemieux, the problem is in <b>inc_top.asp</b> line #77

It should be a blank line, just delete it and it should fix your problem.

I think Richard deserves a special title. Something like "King of the World"

Thanks man!

The beta for the service release has been out here for a few week now, and the buglist was getting too long, and with the hollidays comming I though this would be a good time to throw in another one.

Not since SR3 Beta 4, but there have been some significant changes since Version 3.1 final.
The Allowed memberlist has got its own table now.
Take a look in setup.asp so see the added fields (ofcourse you can also just let setup.asp add them for you).

No, this version/zip-file stays as it is.
I've seen some bug-reports allready, so there will be an update eventually.
It depends on the number of bugs if that is going to be a SR4 or that they'll have to wait untill version 3.2 is ready (and that might take some time).

Scott,

No problem, it is a (sad) fact that I've got used to seeing a lot of active posting after I just released a new (service) release.
But that also is the good news in this case, because that also means that all hidden bugs, or bugs I introduced get removed eventually.
Thank you ! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Are you sure it wasn't because Richard was catching you up ? so you thought you would close all the bugs to increase your post count.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

LOL, you noticed ?! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I know I shouldn't have explained that that was the reason why I had all those posts. Because you said you would take the weekend off, I thought I could get away with it. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hopefully there will be a SR4 for the bug. Because (I can't talk for others), I thing I'll stay with version 3.1 with Service Pack. Because I don't think I'll like the .CSS add to it. I have to support older (and alternate) browsers on the site I use Snitz.
