Because Version 3.1 Service Release 3 Final had a few annoying bugs, I thought is was better to compile and release a Service Release 4.
Absolutely no new features in this version, just the reported bugs fixed:
- Empty line in inc_top.asp causing database error
- links not displaying correctly in profile
- non-members not able to post in private forums
- icons in title breaks when posting reply
- HTML code active in preview
- URL tags not working when HTML was enabled
- extra LF -> CRLF check
You can download the complete zip-file here. If you already have Version 3.1 Service Release 3 Final installed you can also just download the changed files
Bug-reports are, as always, welcome, please post them in the bug forum, and a link to them here. But don't expect them to be fixed until after the hollidays.
Merry Xmas to you all

I am using Snitz Forums 2000 v3.1 R2. Can you tell me which files to replace or not to replace? I have made color modifications that I do not want to loose when I upgrade.
Thanks for truly great program!

Johnny,
Just overwrite all the files <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
Your color settings in the admin section are all in the Database... so you don't have to worry about them being changed... IF you made them in the actual code, your out of luck... since that version, literaly every single file was touched and changed (just one more good reason not to play with the source code).
Cheers!

How is the internationalization going? Shouldn't that started for some time or?

1. In inc_top.asp is one /tr tag referred as bug in bug section 2. I do not see any difference in config.asp of sr3 and sr4. Is there any (it is included in upgrade files)? 3. I am upgrading my Slovak version since sr2 successfully from one dictionary file with find/replace routine. There are many users waiting for international version. Snitz developers, please, open the translation topic.
Happy New Year Miro

Just use the upgrade script... it will add all the database fields you need.

I wouldn't upgrade until the Internationalized version is released (which will begin development as soon as 3.1 is stable. If you feel like it is important that you upgrade, then you will have to re-do all hte work you have done to date... it is for this reason that we discorage customizing the forum code itself. (I understand that internationalization is slightly different)

Any changes you have made should have only been to the inc_header.asp and inc_footer.asp files and then should only have been code inserts (the forum code is written to "adapt"). These types of changes can be simply copied into the new header and footer. If you have made changes beyond this, you will have to manualy re-do all your work here as well.

you can make new smilies by overwriting the icon_smile_xxxxx.gif files... very simple, and easy.

oh... and there has been thought to puting the changing of icons into the admin section, but we are not doing it yet, as it's not a high priority item, when there are much more important features like "Internationalization" that need working on <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
